Multivitamin and Health
What should a good multivitamin have in it
Foods provide vitamin and mineral Super Nutra Complete
supplements that our bodies either do not produce or produce too little of. Often we do not eat enough of the right things and that is when supplemental vitamins and minerals become so important. These supplements; called multivitamins, come in the form of pills, chewable tablets, powder, and liquids. A standard multivitamin usually contains three components: water-soluble vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins and minerals. Water-soluble vitamins pass in and out of the body easily and do no build up in the body's cells. They include vitamin C, and the B vitamins: thiamine, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, B6, folic acid, biotin, and B12. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body's cells and do not pass out of the body as easily as water-soluble vitamins do. The fat soluble vitamins include: vitamins A, D, E, and K. Minerals are the last category included in multivitamin supplements. These minerals include: copper, calcium, magnesium, iron potassium, phosphorus, selenium, and zinc. When you see multivitamins that contain other ingredients that aren't vitamins or minerals these are often substances such as the antioxidants: lutein and lycopene.
Eating organic foods is the best way to get the vitamins and minerals that you need but with today's active lifestyles people are often too busy to make sure that they are getting enough out of each food group. Thus, there is a gap in nutrition that develops when the proper amount of each food source is not eaten. This is where supplements can become an invaluable part of your everyday diet. A supplement cannot make up for poor eating habits but many people find it hard to get all the fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods that their body needs. With the explosion in the supplement industry, it is sometimes hard to know which multivitamin might be right for you though. By following some general guidelines you can rule out what is not right for you, therefore greatly increasing your odds for utilizing a nutritional supplement that will suit your needs and be healthy for your body, at the same time.
